The opening date of WSLO 2021 has been postponed.
/ 9th WSLO Congress Postponed
Dear Colleagues,
The world is now confronted with the terrifying threat of coronavirus pandemic. It is no exaggeration to say that we are at war against the virus. People are fearing for their lives. Many countries are facing unprecedented falls in economic activity.
The 9th WSLO congress was originally scheduled to take place in April 2021. A period of one year may not be enough to ensure the health and safety of the members attending the congress. After careful consideration of the developing situation, we have decided to postpone the Congress to September 19th-21st, 2021, soon after the Tokyo Summer Olympics. The venue remains at Osaka International Convention Center.
We ask for your kind cooperation and understanding of this difficult decision. Many of you may have been looking forward to the Congress in the season of cherry blossoms. Instead, we would like you to enjoy the early autumn colors in Osaka and its neighboring cities of Kyoto, Nara and Kobe.
The priority now is to contain further spread of the coronavirus, and people across the world are taking precautions against the virus. Together we will overcome this crisis, and be able to hold the WSLO congress in September 2021 in a safe and secure environment. We continue to look forward to your participation.
We wish you the best of health during this critical time.
Sincerely,
WSLO President:Ryuzo Fukawa
9th WSLO Congress Chairperson:Chiori Hashiba
